Hard Bag Security Clips
| A design flaw exists in the mounting
method of some of BMW's hard bags, including the ones on my 1998 K1200RS.
For peace of mind, I added security brackets to eliminate this probelm.
These keep the bags from parting company with the bike, either under
spirited driving, or as a result of nefarious actions by a thief.
This is an alternative to the security pin solution proposed by other riders. I figured I would either forget to install the pin, or lose it. This design accomplishes the same thing, but requires less effort to install and remove the bags, and has no pin to lose. The brackets are made from 1/4" Delrin, a very tough form of plastic.
