Jacket/Helmet Security Cable
| Sometimes it's inconvenient to carry around my helmet and
heavy bike jacket, so I added a 3' long cable lock under the seat that I can
loop through the sleeve of my jacket and helmet. The cable is a piece of 1/8"
plastic coated wire rope, with a crimp connector on each end. One end is
permanently attached to a small aluminum bracket that fits under the seat. The
other end hooks through a slot in the aluminum plate. When the seat is flipped
down, the cable cannot be removed. Here is a photo of the jacket cable. Beside the cable is a small Tupperware-type container that I use to store extra fuses, a flashlight, Swiss-army knife, etc. |
